Sydney was buzzing this past weekend, and Santa Cruz and Independent Trucks were in town to throw down after day one SLS knock out rounds. Local punk legends C.O.F.F.I.N, along with Sonic Reducer were the perfect cap to a day of shredding.
Sonic Reducer opened the night with a barrage of punk riffs and their fast-paced, gritty sound set the tone for energy to follow. When C.O.F.F.I.N took the stage the room was primed for chaos. Known for their high-octane performances, C.O.F.F.I.N didn’t disappoint with a set that was reckless and powerful. Ju Jitsu action up front smashed a light fixture by the second song, providing more consequence in the pit for fallen comrades than just an elbow to the face.
Dirt Nap at The Lansdowne became the perfect fusion of punk rock and skateboarding. The night was an unapologetic celebration of everything that makes both scenes so epic to be a part of – we’ll see you next year.
